Treating Alzheimer’s Before Memory Loss Begins

What does it mean to detect Alzheimer’s disease before symptoms appear?

Dr. Joshua Grill joins us to discuss how new blood tests and biomarkers are changing the way researchers identify Alzheimer’s disease, including the possibility of detecting disease-related brain changes years before memory loss begins. He’ll explain what this means for prevention trials, who may be eligible, and why early detection raises important ethical questions for patients, families, and clinicians.

Grill is the director of UCI MIND and co-director of UC Irvine’s NIA-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. A leading Alzheimer’s disease researcher, he has published more than 150 scholarly articles and is nationally recognized for his work on clinical trials, recruitment and retention, and biomarker disclosure.

Join us Thursday, June 25, at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET for a Live Talk with Grill on treating Alzheimer’s before memory loss begins, and the promise and limits of early detection
