Historical mistrust in medical research as well as cultural and linguistic barriers may make Black and Latinx Americans less likely to participate. Since many trials use amyloid PET to determine eligibility, some researchers believe that they may be excluded because they are less likely to test positive. Clinical trial teams are working to increase representation by connecting and building trust within these communities.
