Alzheimer’s blood tests are tested and validated in people with cognitive impairment who doctors suspect may have the disease. Among people with no symptoms, the blood tests have a high rate of false positives. One study found that less than 50 percent of healthy older adults who tested positive would develop the disease 10 years later.
